⏰ Telling the Time
⚠️ Watch out! Hungarian clocks count toward the next hour. So "half two" (fél kettő) actually means 1:30 — you're halfway to two!
Hány óra van? What time is it?
Egy óra van.It is one o'clock.
Három óra van.It is three o'clock.
Fél kettő.Half past one. (literally: half two)
⚠️ Watch out! Fél kettő means 1:30, not 2:30 — Hungarian counts toward the next hour!
Negyed négy.Quarter past three.
Literally 'quarter four' — a quarter of the way to four o'clock.
